My worst pet peeve…

Ok…how many times have you heard someone say…….”I’m so proud of myself!”  UGGGGHHHH!! I can’t stand for someone to pat themselves on their back (I’m even embarrassed for them).  Hello…….only other people are supposed to do that! Ya know? So…for those of you that still aren’t sure about this, look what it says in the scriptures……………..Ok, I feel better….but I’m not sure what I’ll do the next time  I hear it!!   Oh, by the way, what is your pet peeve?

It was a great Open House……

I am thankful for our awesome customers!  Thankful for God’s provision!

I can’t believe how well things went. But then, God did go before us last week to prepare the way. So why was I surprised!? Everything He does is so wonderful….looking around our shop and seeing and talking to so many fantastic people….you could tell…you really could tell that God’s hand was in everything.

But you know……..I’m just really soaped out……and I am really bubbleclub carded out!

Only my customers know what I mean!

Bless them…..bless every one of them!

2 Corinthians 4:10-11, 16-18

I have found great help from two truths God gave me at a time in my life when I was bombarded with a series of unexpected and unfair blows (from my perspective). In my darkest hours these principles still become my anchor of stability, my only means of survival.

Because they work for me, I pass them on to you. Memorize them. Write them on a card and carry it at all times.

  • Nothing touches me that has not passed through the hands of my heavenly Father. Nothing. Whatever occurs, God has sovereignly surveyed and approved. We may not know why, but we do know our pain is no accident to Him who guides our lives.
  • Everything I endure is designed to prepare me for serving others more effectively. Everything. Since my Heavenly Father is committed to shaping me into the image of His Son, He knows the ultimate value of this painful experience. It is being used to empty our hands of our own resources, our own sufficiency, and turn us back to Him—the faithful Provider. And God knows what will get through to us.

Things may not be logical or fair, but when God is directing the events of our lives, they are right.

Ok…it’s a day before our big O My Soap Open House begins….and I should have my mind on anything but what I do have my mind on! And that is the good old daddy long legs…

…they are everywhere! I asked Jennifer is she had any in her house and she said no….!! Jim says it’s the trees we have around our house that lures them in….they are not like a normal spider…however, I’ve read that their mouths are really tiny but  if their mouths were larger ….large enough to bite you….it is fatal?!!? I should research it before posting this….but it’s a miracle I am finding time to post something. I should talk about how great our Open House will be….instead I am talking about daddy long legs. I am finding their carcasses all over the house and they are constantly climbing near the door to the shop.

Well, tomorrow I will focus on how much fun our Open House will be….without those daddy long legs!

These are the three things that get me going in the morning….especially as we prepare for our 8th Annual Open House. Every year we wonder what we will present to our customers, but we always come up with just the right products! This year we have a theme….”Let Heaven and Nature Sing”. It’s been fun taking that phrase and making our open house fit into the meaning. Let me just say two words: Acorn caps!! If you come this next week, you will know what I am talking about!! Hope to see you!!

Start Seeking God

by Charles R. Swindoll

Lamentations 3:25

“Lord, I’m back and I diligently seek you.” How many times have we said this? This time stop talking and sit silently. Wait patiently, seek diligently, sit silently. That means you need to pour out your heart and then deliberately be quiet. Spend a full day in quietness.

Meditation is a lost art in this modern, hurry-up world. I suggest you revive it. Not by endlessly repeating some mantra to get into some other frame of mind. Not that. Simply and silently wait before your faithful God. Read a passage of Scripture, perhaps a psalm, and let it speak. Say nothing. Just sit silently. Let Him talk. Let Him reassure you that you are fully and completely forgiven and that your shame is gone. Feel His arms around you. Understand the cleansing that He’s bringing. Feel again the freshness and relief of His presence.

God will give you a fresh start if you’ll stop fighting. It works. I know. I’ve been there. Just submit to Him and accept His grace.

God will keep His promise to forgive and welcome you home.
His mercies are new every morning.
